On the cutting edge of fashion with some of today’s hottest up and coming designers lies Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, which took place last week. It has been most recently used as a platform to discover, counsel, encourage, support and promote new, young, international designers as well as celebrate and re-confirm some of the more major and most established names in the industry.
While each designer brings their own style and feel to the cauldron of creativity brewing over the 4-day event, there is a common thread or trend that weaves us into the most up-to-date styles for the season ahead. Refreshing, modern, embellished and distinct collection pieces marched themselves through runway after runway to claim the throne on the hot list of who’s who designers.
This stunning white dress from the Frida Weyer collection features a soft white flower that consumes the entire dress.
Ruffles, sequins embellishments, metallics and leathers made up not only some of the most distinctive pieces on the cat-walk but are also some of the signature features of this seasons Teri Jon and sportswear collections.
This teal dress takes the concept of a fabric flower and scales it down.
Last week, CNN stopped by our office in midtown to talk to lead designer and owner Rickie Freeman about how she turned her design dreams into reality.
To see how Rickie’s journey from Israel and her hands-on approach to fashion lead her to success in the United States, check out the story right here. Check out some more behind-the-scenes images of CNN’s visit below.
The Webutante Ball is when the movers and shakers behind New York City’s Silicon Alley all gather in the name of Internet Week to strut their stuff behind step and repeats and open bars; all in the name of Web 2.0.
Social media consultant and maven Leora Israel looked absolutely stunning in this taffeta Teri Jon dress complete with a dramatic, plunging neckline. Check her out, far left:
Women’s Wear Daily, the industry’s fashion bible, featured an amazing article on the new look of Teri Jon Sportswear.
It highlights Teri Jon designer Rickie Freeman’s perspective on how the brand has evolved since its start in 1984—from a buttoned up conservative suit line to today’s more modern and contemporary designs. Last week on “The View,” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck boldly declared her love for Teri Jon on the air while looking gorgeous in a spring-ready, hot-pink Teri Jon taffeta blouse complete with unique shoulder detail.
The dazzling top has a pleated front, intricately folded short sleeves, a cinched in waist and a simple neckline. The multi-functional piece could be dressed down for a night out on the town, or dressed up and paired with a ruched taffeta skirt, as modeled on our website.

Last week, celebrity fashionista Jill Zarin (from Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City”) gave E! News a peek inside of her closet to reveal a little bit of Teri Jon!
Along with her fashion stylist Lauren, Jill educated viewers on how she mixes and matches designers at every price point, and noted our buttery soft leather jacket with ruffle detailing (from our upcoming Fall collection) as her go-to, throw-on jacket before lunching with some of her fabulous friends.
Lauren modeled our one-shouldered taffeta gown, which she said “looks like a $10,000 dress”. But at $790, the dress priced well below Lauren’s kind words. You can purchase Lauren’s dress here. As for Jill’s? You’ll just have to wait and see.
Jill wore this exact dress to a New York gala last month and looked absolutely amazing!
Guess who stopped by our showroom this week? None other then the lovely, charismatic, and hilarious Sherri Shepherd, most famous for co-hosting the #1 rated talk show “The View” on ABC.
As she took a sneak peak at our new collection, it just so happened that her favorite picks were ours as well. One of her fab fav’s was the extremely flattering one shouldered 100% silk chiffon gown. (Style # 6010). The vivid turquoise hue is a key color trend for Spring 2010 and compliments just about any color complexion—and , the asymmetrical neckline brings the eye up and draws attention to the sexy neck and shoulder area. Not only did this silhouette fit Sherri like a glove, it’s playful yet sophisticated style was a true match for her fashion sense!
Teri Jon designer Rickie Freeman bonded with the talk show star, while giving her a personal fitting. Below, we caught the two in action: Sherri looked eye-poppingly gorgeous while modeling our flirty watermelon day dress with side ruffle detail (Style # 816, $390.00). She adored the way the dress can easily transition from day to night, a situation she often finds herself in.
Another dress she just had to try-on was the Floral Chiffon Gown. (Style # 9048). As you can see, this printed bohemian styled number has a fabric wrap belt that hugs the waistline and accentuates a woman’s natural curve perfectly. An exquisitely detailed jeweled neckline adorns the top of the gown to pull the look together. This uber expensive looking evening gown is affordably priced at only $790.00.
Project Runway host Tim Gunn recently told Sherri that “she made it work” in a Teri Jon dress. He took her aside on the red carpet at the RED dress awards and said “You look ravishing in that (Teri Jon) dress!”
